For grandparents & caregivers
Before you're in charge, know the family's water-safety plan. Know how the pool gate and door barriers work, where rescue equipment is kept, and who is responsible for watching the water. When it's your turn to supervise, stay close, put distractions away, and never assume another adult is watching. Swim skills, floaties, and pool fences are layers of protection — not replacements for active supervision.
